About the Yul Brynner Foundation
A Dental Focus on Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week |
Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week was started after Yul Brynner, a famous actor known for his role as the King in The King and I, began a struggle with oral cancer. Twenty years ago, while dying from lung cancer, Yul Brynner made a television commercial that said, "Now that I'm gone, I tell you: Don't smoke, whatever you do, just don't smoke." The statement appeared on ABC's Good Morning America in January, 1985. He died shortly afterwards in October.
